A Simple Recipe for Potato Soup

simple potato soup recipe Here is a simple recipe for potato soup that never fails to get rave comments from anyone we serve it to.

4 - 5 Diced potatoes
1 can chicken broth
2 cups milk
1 tbsp onion powder
1 tbsp celery salt
1 tsp pepper
2 tbsp flour (After this is boiling you can add more if soup is not thick enough)diced bacon or ham

This potato soup recipe is one I found but adapted to fit my taste. Try once with the bacon and another time with the ham. It gives you two distinct flavors.

Boil the potatoes and drain. In a separate pan, pour in the chicken broth and mix in the flour. This helps prevent clumping. Bring to a boil and add the milk and potatoes and all the ingredients.

If I use ham, I boil it separately until I know it cooked throughout. If using bacon, fry it up first. I add some of the grease drippings as well.

When it begins to boil, turn down the heat and stir occasionally until it is as thick as you desire, adding more flour if needed.

A very simple potato soup recipe, am I right? Wait until you taste this. Leftovers are just as good if not better. The potatoes seem to absorb the taste even more when we eat this the next day.
