Cheap Recipes That Are So-o-o-o Good!

Here's a cheap recipe I think you will really like. We call it

Hamburger Pie

.

The ingredients are what makes this such a cheap recipe.
Hamburger
Potatoes
Peas
Tomato Soup

Pre-heat oven to 35 degrees. In a baking pan about 11" x 11" or so, pour in 2 cans of tomato soup and a can of peas (strain first). Mix well.

Cook potatoes - we usually use about 5 medium potatoes.

Brown about a pound of hamburger. Drain, then mix it in with the soup and peas.

When the potatoes are done, mash them. I like to add about a half stick of butter and about 1/4 cup of milk.

Spread the mashed potatoes on top of the tomato soup mixture. Try to cover the entire pan.

Now, turn the oven to 350 degrees and place the pan in the center. Bake for about 20 minutes.

Now turn the oven to 450 degrees for about 5 minutes. This puts a nice crust on the potatoes.

Macaroni offers you a way to make many cheap recipes. Here's a good one.

Baked Macaroni

1 box Kraft Macaroni & Cheese
1/2 lb bacon
1/2 cup milk
4 slices of Velveeta cheese

Fry up the bacon and put it aside. Cut it into pieces about a half inch long.

Make the macaroni & cheese as usual however, instead of 1/4 cup milk, use 1/2 cup. Add the bacon and mix it in well.

Pour into a casserole dish. Place the velveeta cheese on top and place in the oven at 350 degrees for about 15 minutes. That's it!

You can use pepporoni or ham chunks or whatever in place of the bacon for variety.

Cheesy Baked Spaghetti

1/4 cup chopped onion
15 oz spaghetti sauce
12 oz spaghetti
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
4 teaspoons flour
2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese -- grated
3/4 cup evaporated milk
1/3 cup water
1 1/2 cups Velveeta cheese -- grated

Cook spaghetti, drain, and mix with spaghetti sauce. While spaghetti is cooking, melt butter, add onion, and cook until onion is soft. Stir in flour and slowly add evaporated milk and then water, whisking constantly, cook over medium heat until thickened.

Add 1/2 cup to 3/4 cup of Velveeta and Parmesan cheese. Stir until melted. Spread half of spaghetti mixture in the bottom of a 10x6x2" baking dish or 8"-9" square baking dish.

Spread half of cheese mixture and half of remaining half of Velveeta over this layer. Spread remaining spaghetti mixture on top, and then remaining cheese sauce and remaining Velveeta.

Bake at 350 for 15-20 mins. You can't find a cheaper recipe anywhere.
